Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Storm clouds brood
on another’s horizon,
and you worry-
Too close to home.
For all its promise,
life offers no guarantee.
Fear not, for our love
is a fortress,
offering more than refuge
to our bound hearts.
It has not collapsed
under the weight
of doubt and despair.
It is the source of our strength,
the direction of our compass
and our peaceful at rest.
Our joyous at play,
it is our homestead and hearth
and the bread of our hearts.
It was our then,
it consumes our now
and claims our yet to be.
