Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2015-03-28 08:38 AM

There is a feeding frenzy at my house
Chickadees, Cardinals, Wrens -
oh, I don't know
the names of them all.
I only know
that there is a feeding frenzy
at my house this morning.

Here too, Alison. Springtime, and it's about time. Nice wordplay.

My cats and I sure enjoy watching them. The cats want to join in on the feeding frenzy if I would ONLY let them out. Yeah. Right.

Thank you, Jerry.

Hah! Your cats would up the feeding frenzy a bit if they could only get to  those birds.

Yup. Which is why they are not allowed out. They can remain voyeurs.

Alison,Thank you for keeping your cat inside. Just the other day I picked up thirteen red feathers laying just outside my window. I had never seen red feathers nor so many all in a neat pile. Had to have been from a young cardinal that some animal got at. I always pick up feathers, always one or two together never as many as I found that day. No sign of any one or thing that might have attacked this bird.I wonder if it just molted them? Liked you story. JO

Thank you, Jo. I love my cats, but I love songbirds too. Domestic cats are among the top (if not the top) threat to wild birds. My cats stay inside always.

. . . and I love you ... for making your cats, indoor cats.  They indeed kill massive numbers of birds, far more than any other cause.  And I'm sick of they're always peeing or defecating in my yard, and especially in my grand children's sand box (and no, I should not have to "protect" it from them. Nor should I have to "protect" MY bird feeders and baths in MY back yard - not theirs.

Nothing against cats in general if they're properly contained, but a  cat, neither has the right, the need or a reason to be outdoors.  And cat owners don't have the right to subject their cats on their neighbors.

You paint a vivid picture with your words... and drew a smile right on my face.
