I saw your picture the other day,
unexpectedly,
I was at a newsstand
busy street
bored
grazing men's mags looking for intellectual awareness,
with lots of skin,
when wind came roaring down the block,
a wild leftover Winter wind,
one of those screaming city hawks proving it was free,
blew a city rag to pages
where pretty people try to live a lie about their ages
while wobbling on razor's edge of haute couture
and just plain bad taste,
as always you looked beautiful in perfect almost dress
belladonna eyes
a hint of sad tucked inside brittle smile,
I wondered later,
when my mind returned to thinking,
if sad was style
an affectation for evening costume,
just my imagination,
perhaps some latest social rage
or trace of mid-life realization
that time always rents new friends;
caught in atmospheric shear,
this was no Cat's Paw breeze
nor Kohilo tease but a full Vind Gnyr
on a Landlash tear
out to prove its heritage,
so I had only a single glance,
the smallest flash,
by chance to capture fashion's black and white
half thigh exit hinting scandalous defile
close-in tight limo backdrop three-quarter profile,
right there by brick weight's losing battle
as living wind set free the page
to fly you down my city street
blown away and gone
inevitably to nest one day,
perhaps dramatically a scene
in some other untried universe,
you know the kind of photo-op I mean
candid like you used to work so hard to stage;
the human eye can be amazing
when it wants to earn its pay
your image stayed with me all throughout my day.

Ahhh . . . I enjoyed this romp through the mental thoughts of a man spellbound by flesh and mental images prevailing within his psyche. Eh . . . I was right there with you as I was thinking of the woman in the WalMart parking lot, must have been six months ago . . . You betcha! I think of her a lot.
