ahh . . . last night
on the periphery of sleep
when all your senses are quiet
no more thoughts and plans
and everything is running sluggish
this is when the heart
can be heard best
for the heart understands things
which your consciousness’ does not
it is a welcoming sensation
as though the wine
from last night has kept pouring
and your heart
welcomes what it feels
as eagerly as you did last nights kisses
ahhh . . . when dawn awakens you
on the brink of day
you swallow very hard
and accept your hearts’ embrace of love
from last night

"Acceptance" is a magical word and you used it most beautifully, dear Jerry.

I like this very much. In that very special moment between sleep and wake the heart is best heard actually. You listen well.

I like that wine from last night kept pouring line, it's really brings the impression in close. Nicely done.
