"Honkey Tonk Angel" wails in the background.
No troubles here, slam another one down.

Choir's all robed up and Pete's rattling keys.
If I had some sense I'd be hitting my knees.

I ain't got no time
and damn little patience;
I ain't got no reasons
and damn-all excuses.

Let's dance with the cowboys
and buy Jesus a round.

Damn straight, Nan, and Jesus might join you two later for a round of . . . You know . . . Jesus love . . . Gawd, that brought back memories of Virginia and Dallas.

looks like having honkytonk is fun...but not having grown up in these here part of the world, I have only the faintest idea what it is... .

Thanks, jjote and marchmadness.  It's more on the order of 'As long as we're dying, let's have another round'. I've only honky-tonked a few times in my life.  It's fun.  Of course, I may have a different view than the other people in the crowd, since I don't drink alcohol, but I don't need it to get high on the music and the laughter.
