[A quote from Khalil Gibran's poem, Lover's Call]
"Sail your smile into the air, it will reach and enliven me!"

Cradling that thought feels so warm
as the dusk of evening drops like a curtain.
I embrace your smile, it is a peek of light
filtering through the darkness of my solitude.

Your memory is a cool mirage that beckons me
a whisper of tremulous breath sustaining me
you are as natural as mist or the curling wave
I am lost no longer like flotsam tossed at sea.

Swallows are wheeling around me in early morn,
play sentry by the rocks. I realize
my nightmares have been my own making.
I reach to catch your smile. Now life is good.

Ah the little things that bind us to one another, a smile, a scent, a look... They seem like small things but they can be as powerful to us as the acts of nature you describe in your poem. ~L

Thanks Lori for stopping by. You're so right there. Even a word or words written to one another in this forum can bind us in some way.

Beautiful thoughts and words. I like to look at the sky in the darkest hour and listen for a special softly spoken "Good night". Some of the things we do to be able to "carry on" thank you, Jo
