Awaiting the storm,
Now another in hand.

Words have escaped me
For "time's hold" demand.

The future of moments
off-roading the flow

When thoughts need caressing
of memories,although...

These friendships and losses
of all still so dear

Will always have "heart-life"
throughout mine, each year.

M

It is wonderful to have friends and loved ones who are able to weather the storms and remain close to you.

Jerry, thank you...these are my longtime poetry friends here on piptalk ...some still here, others have left us...having met so many wonderful poets and their loved ones through the years on here. Thinking of Isabel and Sy now and so many we have lost. But I will always have my memories.

A beautiful tribute, Maureen.  It seems I spend more and more time in the archives every year.  So many memories there... so many friends who've passed.  Their magic lives on in your words.

As long as they're in you memories, Maureen, they'll never be lost - gone in essence, yes, but lost, no. And that goes for the living too, you know: they may be "gone", but as long as we have the memories we made - they're never, truly, lost, just not currently active in "our" personal space.

Enjoyed this trip with you...and as before -

My heart to you...

Thank you, DreamPoet...hoping you are weathering this, our next approaching storm

Thanks for stopping by, JamesM. It's been a while for me to post but I am always reading.

Lori, I am always thinking about our visit and wondering if you ever come this way in the future, you are always welcome here.
Hugs

Thank you, Ida.  I have this not so new puppy that takes up so much of my time that  between teaching and Piper, I've lacked the composing thoughts of late.

Thank you so much Michael. I  wish there was a poetry convention where others who have not yet met would have the opportunity to do so. Such wonderful piptalk friends here.

JamesW (jimmy) All I have to do is reread my poetry and that of others and  their replies to feel uplifted when I am "down".  Thank you for stopping by and responding.

As Always,
M

I agree, Maureen. I'll never forget the get-togethers we had in the past where we had the chance to meet so many of our fellow pipsters. Many from Tampa we will never see again....like Sy, Isabel, Marge, Madame Chipmunk...but we will always have our memories of them and they will always live in us.

Beautiful Maureen.I have been reading many of the poems I printed out from this site and the beauty of the friendships formed spoke to me also. I will soon be 83 and I do not know what family will do with the many notebooks I have saved but I can not toss any of them so it will have to be left to family to decide. enjoyed your remiss, JO

Thank you, Golden one...it is nice to see some familiar faces among the new on here. Hope all is well

Michael, I still think often of Florida and the poetry readings, scavenger hunt, dinners, getting to meet and learn about one another. (I laugh about how crowded we were and how I made the closet my sleeping area I have a  glass cabinet on my wall holding all the memory gifts we gave to one another so I can see them daily and the poetry books Ron and others have made available.
There are still so many poet friends I would have loved to meet in real...maybe...some day.

Hugs,
M

Jo, I am in the process turning many of my poems and some favorites into binders...and wonder also who may enjoy them if and when I am  "gone". Thank you for your  comments.
