Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Just as the wood grain
grows richer and deeper
with time
and touch,
so has my love for you.
A new hue
colors my heart.
A heart that has
loved in vain before,
wonders at this
sensation
Beyond romance and passion’s
flashy flames,
lies the constant of smoldering coals
to warm us.

You used to tell me that I looked good in love, the same can be said of you, Lori

Oh my dear friend,

It wasn't until I was able to let go of my old notion of being "in love" that I was able to move to this new place of being loved. A heart and mind at ease is a beautiful thing.  Thank you for commenting.
