Here in Winter's woods' deception
love should never be a question;
all but invisible inside scattered moonlight,
wisps and strips of shattered rips a'glisten
through stoic trees all sparkled trunks
and dusted leaves a'glow with hoarfrost crystals,
hard as diamond chips a'flash
within the mind steady in repose aware
in crusted micro points of bright,
I exist beyond edges of eternity,
where honesty is hidden
beneath cosmetics of civility,
shadow moving within shadows,
watching from a distance full of darkness' promises,
as in innocence you exercise the household's pet;
running out ahead of you bathed in evening's urgency,
there is no doubt of welcome yet
I am but vague memory tucked away
safely ‘neath covenants of bloodlines
spanning centuries of trust and obligation.

Ah, The Wolf Moon. Your tremendous descriptions bring images of wolves howling on the outskirts of ancient human encampments.

'beneath cosmetics of civility'...great.

I am but vague memory tucked away
safely 'neath covenants of bloodlines
spanning centuries of trust and obligation.'
The evolution of the wolf to household pet. A wolf's-eye view, a real treat, thank you.

So full of imagery - I can't decide which line or lines to be my favorite. The line "household's pet;
running out ahead of you bathed in evening's urgency," made me smile remembering my granddaughter's pet.

A poetry treat this is.

Another masterpiece from you, dear Charly. Outstanding imagery indeed and as always also thought provoking.

You visit the blue pages too seldom. Yet when you decide to bless us, it's always a treat.

Peace and joy in the New Year!

Great work!! There is an element of precision to your poetry that makes each piece full of sharp imagery. Your message is always thought provoking. Your style is unmistakably you. You are indeed a treat.

What can I say that hasn't be said? Not much. You rive up the thought process when you sit down to write one . . .

It is absolutely wonderful to read you again and to come in and find this as my first after having such a long absence.  You still write magically, and so beautifully!
