    The Limit of Love

The poetry of poetry
is the empty page.
The music of music
is the silence.
The painting of a
painting is the
blank canvass.
There is no escape
from the twin
tyrannies  of
inspiration and
  imperfection.
Perhaps as light vanishes
  into light
and shadows into darkness
we are a dream lost in a dream;
and  the grand-penultimate
limit of all art and truth,
that we approach but never
capture, is simply love.

Duality is, for me, the key to understanding.

Okay Bruce, one of, if not the, best poems you have posted here that I have read.

~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~

Glad you liked it, JP !

(seemed like a 'ripe' time for something 'completely different')

I love how you approached the theme of perfection. Indeed it seems never attainable on this level of existence. The All-Love might be a grand revelation to us in its perfection, once we have left this level of duality. Meanwhile we surely should not give in to frustration because of our imperfection. There is still so much incredible beauty down here for which we can get lost in sighs.

... and your beautiful write is just an example!

Peace,
Margherita

I really should not read other's remarks before posting my thoughts. Others seem to find the right words. My mind went to the word LOVE. It is tossed around so freely that we sometimes miss the true meaning of the word. What is the definitive meaning to the word? I always sensed that "respect" had a close relation to "love" and without that Love would not be able to stand alone. Best to you and your beautiful thoughts. Thank you  for sharing this part of you to the rest of us.Jo

Thank you Jo!

I have only 'words' with which to paint this world in bright-delicious colors with a 'brush' of light.
Love and Nature are the infinite source of that light; and, I simply have to believe that the words
they inspire are the grandest lasting source of true 'magic' in this world.
