To observe the sea is a beautiful play for
the mind,it imposes the reassurance, forces
the look in the invisible details, the
enumeration of odd Rocks, the height of breakers,
The taste of the foam,
little common parameters  lead you
to forget the speed where everyone waste the essential,
to see the sea open any sorts of windows in my soul …

If I lived by the ocean I would certainly open the window, yann. Actually we are about 30 miles from the ocean here.

I was born in a land locked place, and it was strange when I found myself working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico for so many years. I learned to like and respect the sea for what it was.

Sailed on it for a couple years - aircraft carrier:
lived in the middle of it - Guam:
almost drowned in it a couple of times:
swam and fished it it more times than I can count -
the Pacific anyway:
and have always felt the pull of it's tides
in my blood.

Awesome place -

The Sea, The Sea,  The Salty Sea

Guide me to an ocean,
cleanse my feet with salty spray,
hold me back from the sirens call,
enticing me to join her,
this foam-flecked day

Guide me to an ocean
with waters of deepest blue,
on dolphin backs I'll skim the waves,
till the sunlit sky fades . . .
and  turns its darkest hue.

Guide me to an ocean
lay my bones at the bottom of the sea,
sail with me on a ship of souls,
skimming the bottom restlessly.

The sea, the sea,
the salty sea,
the only home for me.

Exquisitely expressed, dear Yann. Profoundly beautiful. The sea is perfect for introspection and it always inspires, also to see beyond the horizon.

I also loved Jimmy's contribution.

Both your title and your message have a calming effect.

Lovely thoughts islander, and so true to your namesake.
