December twilight falls
on a world, painted in
frost and condensed
   moonlight


In the empty Winter
       cupboard
    one dead fly

Christmas alone
with a stranger
    in the mirror

on this shortest night
a snow hare and I
stare at the moon

December evening
snow on the window
and strawflowers
    by candlelight

December midnight
moonlit shadows
stroke the Winter
    hare

pondering in silence
perhaps a better
world inside
   the mirror

Christmas alone. Sounds so sad but gives time to reflect and not have to scurry around those weeks ahead. There is always some one to invite in if the need for companionship arises. New Years Eve might be a good night to do that.Jo
