Fade to Light - Duet

The hollow of resonance
spacious, warm
closes me in

Dark, inviting

Welcoming the slow
down feel

Come, sit, tell me

All

Speak to that
which holds you
still

Say those things
that you have
not

Watch
as darkness

Dissipates…

into the warm, of love.

Then hold, that you might
be held

To cry, that I might
tear,

Then sing, that we should
take wing

to heights as never before...

~*~

A long time ago in the blue pages, poets would perform a duet with words with one another. This was my duet with Serenity [Karen]. I dusted this off, because I wanted to let others know that memories of those who have gone before us should be remembered, and brought back to highlight love and life...and good times. So Merry Christmas...please keep your loved ones close in your heart...and duet with them whenever you can.

Karilea, this exquisite poem has the tears coursing down my cheeks for Karen and you and all who knew her.  May she be resting in peace.

I have forgotten how to save to my library.  Could somebody please remind me?

Happy Christmas, Karilea and also to all the talented writers
who walk these fine blue sands of 'P.I.P.-land' by the cyber-sea ...

grand-fine remembrance posting!

Karen (Serenity), Kacy (Midnitesun), and far too many more just
since 2006 ... those that have passed and those that are otherwise
missing from this 'circle of friends.'

Diana, there should be a spot at the top of your page that says "Private Library". I haven't used it in a while, but I'm sure it must be in working order. Thank you for your comments.

I had a need to bring Karen home for the holidays. I'm so glad you all seem to agree.

Merry Christmas!

There is, Karilea, but how do you get a poem in there?

If you go into your Private Library (menu at top) you should find the following:

"Bookmarks for both threads and poets can be added to your Library only when you post."

Look for the checkmark in the OPTIONS section of the POST or REPLY page.

Truly wonderful and touching duet, dear Karilea. You harmonized most beautifully here. Missing dear Karen very much like you and so many.

What I could say has already been said. I'll say beautiful anyway..

I remember. :-)

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look

Ah, thank you Ron and Karilea!  Found it!  So obvious - how could I have missed it?  I suppose I didn't look for it here (where I am in the Reply box).

A beautiful piece Karilea, though it brings with it some sad memories mixed with many happy ones too. Serenity and I joined here about the same time and quickly became friends, as was her way and we corresponded for a while till we got settled in here. I remember writing her a poem once, when she was in sad slump, to let her know that I understood how she felt. Not exactly a duet but it seemed to please her and cheer her a little. She's missed and holds a special place in memory
