Listening to every heart

I’ve Been Remiss

The losses had pelted me severely
As all of the voices of my beloveds
Nevermore to be heard quite as clearly
Only by His ear, very high above.

T’was as if my soul had been depleted
I’d come only to find not a lone sign
But in the archives, voices repeated
Though tears were my own and silent land mines.

So there it is, and I told muse, “please go”
All the lost voices, and me, raining tears
But God, oh, better plans He has and knows
And sends me a dream to erase all fears.

So my grief has come to a conclusion
For the muses have been so amusing
Which is my hint, thus my own solution
Which now rids me of all my confusion.

I’ve been remiss, in missing the living
And those who struggle, but write nonetheless
So here shall you find me once more, lifting
Your verses again, in finding my bliss.

Merry Christmas, PiP Family.

So good to read this Karilea.I often check back to the Archive so I can mind play with the older members. It was full of fun and good cheer and also some very sad stories.I miss all who came before and had to leave us.I guess the state this world is in now has made a lot of changes in all of us. Best to you. Jo

Wow... 'been there!  I'll look forward to seeing more of you, K.  Though verse from me has been pretty scarce of late as well, I'm still here reading as always.

I understand your feelings, dear Karilea, you say it so well. We continue to love those who have moved on and we can keep them alive within our hearts also by continuing to visit this place which has given us so many emotions.
Merry Christmas, dear Karilea. And welcome back.

Love,
Margherita

Well, I'm so glad I picked this one to read AND that I read all the comments, too, which I don't always because I don't want them to influence my response before I've made it. However, in reading I learned Grouse is RMW, which is good to learn.
If you've had a dry spell due to loss, I'm sorry on both counts, and I'm glad you are climbing out with intention and fortitude.
And that we'll get to read you again. After all Karilea, you are Sunshine.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Karilea!
I'm sure you will find your time away will serve you well when you are ready to write. And you know eager eyes will be waiting on your words. Christmas is a wonderful time when "family comes back home".

Maybe we need to resurrect the Just In's, Nurse Cratchet and the famous Dr. Moose lol I have tears in my eyes just remembering the Rhymes! They always were Justin Thyme.

Marilyn, I couldn't agree more. Let's push for a little more Justin Thyme comments....
