Listening to every heart

The Tree of Leaves

Before I call this day a night
Before I dim and turn out the light
I want to turn back to a dream
It was so real, or so it seemed…

For I was dressing up a tree
Or maybe it was addressing me
For it was made of pages and leaves
From many books, or so I believed…

The leaves and pages were adorned
Talked of a child who was born
And seemed to be of scripture and hymns
From which voices seemed to stem

I turned to look, then looked again
The pages made a tree of white, and then
The words came alive as if to glisten
And I leaned closer, for I wanted to listen

To the ancient tongues speak of the joy
Of the birth of this little boy
In a land so far, far away
And a star showed followers the way

And if I touched a leaf, the songs!
The voices chanting that We belong
To the Glory, and the Light
And that Faith would make things right.

And when I awoke from this dream
I held it close, or so it would seem
For I have thought of it all day
And leave it for you on which to pray.

Merry Christmas

So here we have a double gift to enjoy. Your presence, dear Karilea, and the beauty of this Christmas dream of yours. In the end it is all about LOVE. May we share it and receive it abundantly.

Much enjoyed, thank you for being here.

Merry Christmas.

This poem ranks up there among the best I have ever read concerning the Christ-Child. It is an absolutely mesmerizing write!

At this time of year, when I read such poems, and children are lost in school nativity plays, I find I'm so very sad at the loss of something that was once so wonderful.
Merry Christmas to you too.
