Winter Zen (part II)

already lonely
the fog makes
me sorrowful
December
evening rain

dancing to the
far horizon
ten million
flakes of snow

having paused
by the snowy
   forest
why am I
still here

the wild Winter wind
stirs dead leaves and
    snowflakes
moving on, moving on

the last days of Autumn
when has too much
    been lost

gentle moonlight falls
on snowflakes and lovers
      dancing

a wicked Winter wind
drives the infinite clouds
      of Winter

one can see the Winter
twilight breeze in the
moonlit snowflake
     dance

in the December
rain and fog
there is only
silence and
memories

is there joy
in loneliness
Winter darkens
December rain
and lonely nights
Winter seclusion

voices from the
snowbound lane
Winter lovers

snow in the pines
and ‘endless’ hills
Appalachian
Winter dawn

here there is no one
but the Winter twilight
   moon

Quite a tribute to your "Winter Zen" series, Bruce.

If they give you ruled paper write sideways.

Thanks JP. ... writing 'Winter Zen' is, for me, generally an attempt to dispel the 'Dark Wolf ' ...

I have always wondered why loneliness creates such beautiful poetry. I guess the answer is obvious.

... and there is you, Bruce, capturing these magical moments.

I especially love:

dancing to the
far horizon
ten million
flakes of snow

This is so deeply inspiring!

the beauty is stark as is the
void as hearts empty and fill
simultaneously
