(Here's a feel-good song I wrote for a local fashion designer who just won the Best Emerging Designer award at the Portland Fashion & Style Awards and someone I'm blessed to call a dear friend!

I've never actually been to Paris.........but in following all of her designs and hearing about how Paris broke her open............in simply glancing at photographs of the Ninth and Tenth Arrondissements and many of the scenic areas surrounding Paris...........I found myself tearing up out of warmth myself............and this song kind of wrote itself. She also is a lifelong fan of The Cult, so you'll see some song titles peppered in here and there!

It's both for my friend, and also doubles as a love song for finding your bliss in the general sense, and sharing it far and wide.)

Boulevard De Magenta
By: Noah Hibiscus Eaton
12/2/14
.
.
.
Something has,
shifted in your eyesight...

...gone full tilt,
in the clouds,
an aphrodisiac,
on your jacket,
in the broad daylight...

...like the Chamonix Needles,
gracing Chesery Lake...

...You're stepping out,
into the void,
now your arms are open,
like the grand foyer,
of the Folie Bergere cabaret...
.
.
...there's something,
in the springtime air today...
.
.
Your heart's bleeding,
majestically,
like the Seine flows,
on to the sea,
the lingering scent,
of pistachio gelato,
from Berthillon,
wafting through the breeze,
you're entranced,
in the cadenza,
of another morning,
on Bouevard de Magenta...
.
.
.
Jut another fresh face,
for the Montmartrois streets...

...a concrete blonde,
sonic savant,
bottling a dove,
at the House of Nina Ricci...

...and go window shop,
the L'Empire du Mariage...

...shaboo shabah,
peonies flood the sidewalks,
as you go chasing down,
each butter muslin mirage...
.
.
...even still,
your jaw can't help but drop...
.
.
Your heart's bleeding,
majestically,
like the Seine flows,
on to the sea,
it may just be,
another Sunday afternoon,
here on the island,
of La Grande Jatte,
but here you are,
tapping to the cadenza,
of another afternoon,
on Bouevard de Magenta...
.
.
.
Set up an easel,
where the daffodils glow,
in the high pastures,
of the Vosges,
and pirouette,
under the sycamore,
this is where you discovered,
what your heart is for...
.
.
.
Your heart's bleeding,
into the dusk,
blinking like the marquee lights,
of the Le Louxor Cinema,
yards and yards,
of silk georgette,
swaying like snowdrop,
in your head,
roller-skating,
to the cadenza,
of another sunset
on Bouevard de Magenta...

Your heart's bleeding,
it's burning bright,
a towering show,
of a million lights,
swelling like,
the La Roue de Fortune,
in the Tarot de Marseille,
so here's a toast,
to finding home...

...on the Boulevard de Magenta...
.
.
.
...whistling,
music for the morning after,
on the Boulevard de Magenta...
.
.
.

Oh my, how blessed is she. I am positive her heart is fluttering from these words. To have a poem directed to one with showing  all you stand for and love is a true gift. Let us know what she said as she or you read it. Jo
