walked outside with my little Zoe
mid-day sky so vivid blue
almost hurt your eyes to look
but look I did
no clouds to mar the beauty
except for one thing
the sky was completely barren
except for the faint, but very seeable
quarter moon
so alone it seemed
I've seen the moon in broad daylight before
still for some reason
this sighting struck me
with wonderment and inner speculation
the moon
so far away but we've walked on it
never mind what
my father used to say
he was convinced they took that moon walk
in some Arizona desert
died believing that
we've gone further, much further
than the moon now of course
still it is the moon
which captures our imagination
whispers love songs to us
incites poets to write
ergo I have writ

If they give you ruled paper write sideways.

To be quite honest my friend, your title scared me away from reading this last night (I thought it was one of your hot TMI poems and I was in an "I have a headache, not tonight dear mood")
Jokes on me! What a sweet pondering on the moon!

There shall always be magic
in the moon, my friend...

and I'm so glad you've caught it,
and "writ" it...you write well.

Especially cards!

Merry Christmas!

Thank you Karilea, I appreciate your thoughts.
