the years
whisper the chant
of where has she been
oh, what prankster
is staring back in the mirror
from a child
to this full grown woman
how did she grow
from the San Francisco streets
in those days of flower power
digging Joplin, et al
she dared to believe dreams came true
eh . . .  what did those
rough and tumble streets
really mean
still she believed that the beautiful people
would never end
look! who's staring back in the mirror
from the child
to this full grown beautiful woman
it's how she thinks
that paints
who she is at any given time
so she rides her beliefs
even on future dreams
it's a Woodstock
beckoning
captivating songs of the day
and free
always free

Well done my friend. You got me remembering my high school bell-bottomed self. Interesting the things that haven't changed. I liked the word "prankster", it resonated with me.

How true Yann, the past seems to always be with us.
