life has taught me one thing
doesn't always have to be  poetry
flowers and beauty
no . . .
it can be lonely highway
as thousands of cars pass you
and you weary thumb by
it can be dark alleys
street hustlers
always trying to up you one
the insincerity of the woman you score
or was that my insecurities
at play
life can offset that
grimy, desolate and very bad life
by taking notice
of a beautiful woman's smile
allowing people to go ahead of you
in the check out line
if they only have a few items
if it rains
find a secluded place
take all your clothes off and feel
your life
so when you look back on it
you feel the inner glow of knowing
you did the best you could
at all times

Will this site ever become what it used to be? I keep trying, but . . .

No Jerry, this site, like us and all things will never be what it used to be. It is what it is. It has moved to the future with a life of its own. Thank God for you or the blue room wouldn't be different every day. You are the blue stalwart.  Yes, you try and you do us a great service. On behalf of all of us here, I offer you a heartfelt thank you! Do not be discouraged, but instead take pride in the great job you do each and every day! I know I look forward to seeing your name everyday.

Lori, thank you, somehow I feel I don't deserve these words, but am so happy to read them.

Yes..nothing stays the same so we accept the things we can not  change.
But there are things we can change...and a kind word/deed speaks volumes.

You breathe life into these blue pages JP.

JP2,

"so when you look back on it
you feel the inner glow of knowing
you did the best you could
at all times"

How else could it ever be?  You did an outstanding job with one, bud.
Thought provoking for sure!!

Enjoy the mood your write just placed me in...

Excellent.

JL

If my words put you in a good place, then they worked like they were supposed to. Thanks, JL.

And isn't that just a fantastic conclusion? This is powerful, dear Jerry.
