Elder Years

There were no stars tonight –
every one replaced with the image
of someone I knew –
or used to know,
someone  I loved once.

Forever.

I have those moments.

If they give you ruled paper write sideways.

Wonderful thought, dear Jimmy.

And your words remind me of a very intense moment when at age six I was alone in the hospital and a nurse put her arm on my shoulders and opened the window, pointing to a star, saying "See that bright star over there, it's your Daddy saying he loves you". Never forgot that moment. That was a very kind gesture by the nurse.

Have a great Sunday!
