Even pretty things have to end,
Yes, pretty things will wilt and die,
The youth who so bravely spend.
In old age no cash wonders why.

Lovely ladies will be forgot,
Will turn to earth when death takes them,
Beauty rots, and all come to naught,
Spiders spin webs o'er divine gems.

Return sweet love, youth please return,
Ahhh, even the flowers will fade,
Give in to winter's death so stern,
This can't be so, come back they pray.

Days go on and the sun will rise,
Memories fade soon enough,
Although at night some will still cry,
Life is to be lived so get tough.

Your last line says it all...as for getting older, I have no regrets of my life well lived,  and Lord I am not going  to wilt much less feed into my age...I am not fighting that battle. Life is good, yesterday's gone and I'm grateful for the past and what the future holds.  It is what it is and it's all good.

I hear you Lori. It took me a long time to put the past at rest. Oh, I still write about it every so often, but not with the attitude that I used to have. Also took me a while to understand the phrase, "It's all good." I do now and it makes sense to me. Thank you for being here . . .

Life is good! Especially when I'm not looking through the filter of depression. That makes a world of difference. Good write my friend.

That is so good to hear, Lori, about the veil of depression leaving you alone these days. Makes me happy to know.

we do choose our own adventure and what we reap from it
I sometimes have to remind myself to stay on the up side of down
but then it is all good

Hear you loud and clear about choosing our own adventure, Emma. Sometimes it is a little difficult to live them down. Heh.Heh Thank you.
