           this fleeting life

far above the Autumn mist
among these 'endless' shadow-hills
beneath a frozen vacant moon
beyond all man's futile schemes
   and cascading sorrows
in this place where clouds are born
truly listen to the wisdom of the
   Winter wind
that knows no bounds nor master
and calls only Time’s  vast-eternal
   emptiness ‘home’
grasp for nothing cling to no one
for the only certain certainties
are transience, loss, and change
and a thousand  eternal questions
   without answers
on the random, lonely path of
    fleeting life

Lovely Bruce. A wee bit of
sadness I detect but beautiful all the same. jo

Thanks, Jo !

I have a rather 'sad' life. I suppose it creeps into the 'poetic scribbles' at times particularly in November (an especially 'difficult' month for me).

A wonderful glimpse, but I don't think the ending will be so sad.  Eternal questions without answers, yes as God meant them to be...understanding eternal life is elusive at best...that's the rub for me...the magic of it all.

Happy new year dreampoet...

It may be sad but it is still a masterpiece. Bruce.

Beautiful. Man is not, nor ever will be,  greater than his place. He has the knowledge to feel the beauty, but the will to destroy the same. But man is ephemeral, a tiny flash in Gaia's plan; a flicker in an endless night.
