Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Highways striped with brine
Trucks waiting loaded with salt
Stores with shovels and ice melt
stocked at their front doors
Homes have plenty
of hot chocolate
Boots and mittens
have been matched and mated
Everyone is getting ready
for that first snowfall
for the fender-benders
the slips and falls
the staying in
the power going out
Everyone is watching the weather man-
young  sledders hoping for a hit
travelers for a miss
Little noses up against the glass
looking for a flake

Anticipation is sometime is a wonderful feeling, and waiting for that first snowfall in one of the best ones.

If they give you ruled paper write sideways.

Love the scene
don't love the snow
but you make it warm

Jerry, they keep pushing back the time and the amount of snow predicted gets less and less. All this prep may have been for naught. But I'm having hot chocolate anyway

Thanks EmmaRose!
My favorite part of the cold is all the cozy stuff that comes with it.
