Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Longing for the way I was
Not so long ago
Ah, life is a slippery slope
When we let ourselves go

What’s the use?
Is no excuse
But the results are quick to show

I punish myself with rewards
Of comfort well intended
But more than just my thoughts
Have been well extended

I used to walk a lot
More than a mile a day
Now I trudge here and there
Huffing and puffing along the way

My aches and pains are so many
For each one I wish I had a penny
I’d never be broke
and that’s no joke

So I must take a stand
And away from the pity pot take my leave
For my sweet tooth I will grieve
My bad habits to reprimand

Or so I say right now
Whilst feeling like a bloated cow
But when faced with hunger pangs
All good intentions be hanged

Wishing you luck, you can do it, I know you can.

If they give you ruled paper write sideways.
