            Time's Indifference

The moon is a bright-cold lantern as
a shooting star skims the far horizon
on this windswept Autumn night.
Leaves dance with the silvered shadows
as if they still must celebrate all of life's
brevity, transience, and change.
Coming, going, coming  ...
the fleeting seasons of oblivion
roll down the traceless years
   until only Time remains,
indifferent to all our deepest loves
    and finest dreams.

Yes, time is fact and goes on with or without us.But I still like the fact that leaves go on falling and sending food and dessert into the ground to keep on feeding young trees to follow. best to you Bruce,jo
