THE FIRE YOU HAVE LIT

I have always sought the sun and moon
and lived my passion for the cherished gift of life,
every whisper of each miniscule moment -
so, for you to have ignited in me
such a glorious, multi-hued, vibrant wildfire
of tempestuous reds and shades of longing orange,
true-blue golds, tender yellows
and faithful, anchoring ambers -
this fire that blazes scarlet-hot,
with an eternal flame
in my heart, body, mind and soul,
and that illuminates,
macro- and microcosmically
the splendour of my joys
and the anguish of my sorrows
by every day and every night,
is something
that
only
you
could do in my lifetime,
so by the light and strength and power of our fire
I am yours
forever and a heartbeat-day.

Happiness certainly isn't a one-time affair, my friend, as you know and I'm certainly glad to see it return to you!

Enjoyed on multiple levels...

Thank you, Jimmy, for you kind words.  You are right.  One needs to work at it, but the rewards are great!  Yes, I am happy it has returned to me too!  I am glad you enjoyed the poem so much.

The unexpected love that comes to us the second time around can not be compared to what once was. With the heart and knowledge we hold in our years today we lend so much more and in that, We gain double the expectation. You are now   feeling the appreciation given by a new love and that is what we really need.
Joy to you. Jo

Thank you, Martyjo for your beautiful, kind, wise and heart-warming reply.  Yes, though a mere 6 months old, this new love is deepening and becoming more joyous by the day.

I celebrate your happiness!!! I cannot help but think of this man who has found you. It will take him his lifetime to plumb the depths of your capacity to love. I'm sure what love you have shown us here is only the tip of the iceberg dear lady. Bless his heart that he may cherish in equal proportion.

Lori, thank you so much for celebrating the love my man and I have for each other!  Actually we have been together for 6 months now, and we have had some serious downs, but mostly wonderful ups.  The downs have been significantly blown away by very specific happenings, and although I am sure we will have more downs, we both know we will overcome them with ease.  If we could overcome what we already have, anything else is a walk in the forest.

I can understand your saying that it would take him a lifetime to plummet the depths of my capacity to love - however, it only took him a few months, and our love for each other grows by the day, and we both see it and appreciate it and celebrate it all the time.  Yes, you are right - what I have shown here is only the tip of the iceberg.  Oh, yes, he does cherish it, as I cherish his love for me, and he meets mine in every way imaginable.  We both feel so blessed, lucky and happy.

Thank you again, Lori.
