Who am I to say
what is what?
Who am I
to offer an unsolicited opinion?
What makes me think
I’m so smart
I should tell you
what you
should do?
Where do I get off
telling you
what nobody bothered
to tell me?

Who am I to say?
I say because
I wished I’d been warned
about that dead end
(when I didn’t see the signs)
I wished I been told
about that pile of crap
(I didn’t see coming)
I wish I had known
(you couldn’t get there from here)

I say because
I believe
suffering has a purpose
I believe
we learn from our pain
I believe
experience teaches us
I believe
we are meant to teach others

I say
knowing full well that
my words won’t always be
heard
heeded
or
held on to

I say because
it is all about sharing
I say because
I’ll never know
who needed to hear me
today
tomorrow
or
years from now

Experience teaches us and we are meant to teach other.

Wonderful thoughts.  Thank you for your introspection.
