It's not in the cross currents
though their artistry has inspired

nor in the technical jargon
of weather and season and all
that lay north of the border

it's in their silent procession
the flutter of color on butterfly sky

and how deeply I feel them
in their shedding - so gently but potently

each one a reminder
that sorrow is the veil that lays over me

(watching the leaves succumb to their destiny
Saturday afternoon - missing you)

Ahh . . . Tender is the moment, and you, my friend, captured it magnificently with this stunner. You always come up with the very best in poetry.

If they give you ruled paper write sideways.

fine 'write' ... a testament to transience and change down the ever-rolling seasons of immortal Time ...

WOW!

and how deeply I feel them
in their shedding - so gently but potently

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Oh wow...your thoughts are beautiful even in their melancholy...they dance across the page.

Emma,
This poem has your unmistakable touch. It is delicately and tenderly rendered. And much enjoyed.

Wow, dear EmmaRose, I am so glad I found this masterpiece of yours. We share a deep sensitivity with regard to Nature's performances.

So much enjoyed you here. The melancholy comes through so intensely.

Love,
Margherita
