I chew words
delightful and oh so tasty
not always
a breakfast of poetry
I walk down the street
happily downing
a lunch of my favorite poems
people hastily
cross to the other side of the street
those who don't
refuse to look me in the eye
heads down
I have many poems to eat
poor little Zoe
doesn't know what to make of me
rolls her eyes
somehow taking over my persona
my landlady is freaking out
tears falling down her face
are you okay
she wants to know
I fall to my knees
hug her around the waist
she squeals
Zoe (me?) growls
I am at peace inside my poetry dark

Enjoyed very much! btw, are they fattening? Sweet? Surely some, and a myriad of other flavors and cuisines, I'm certain.

Somehow, though, I still want to sample those cookies coming out of the oven.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Like everything else they are somewhat fatting, and you are right, love those just out of the oven cookies, you betcha!

Thanks a lot for venturing into my world today.

After chewing on your tasty poetry I wouldn't mind having some of those cookies myself.

Fire up the oven, Ida, I'll be there directly. When was the last time you saw "directly" being used in that fashion. I think it is a expression used in the south mostly. I don't remember the last time I used it, or even thought of it. But instead of typing "in a little bit" I went for what I wrote. Strange . . .

Words do put specific feelings in the mouth.
