Addicted to my affliction Apparently I like to party too often with pity and shoot sadness in my veins My heart becomes numb as I weep for emotions that only live in my memory I sell my waking wellness for a pseudo death in sleep My I will capsizes into I can’t while the conveyor of life continues bringing more things to me I can’t handle Stuff lined with anxiety piles up at my lead feet creating a quicksand of sad to which I succumb And all the while never messing my makeup |

Hah! Got to be looking good even if everything around you is turning to . . . well, you know. Sure wish a strong ray of light would put your dark at ease. If they give you ruled paper write sideways. |

Thanks my friend. I guess it is not so much dark as it is a damnable gray. The kind that gives you a chill... Lori |

Oh my, dear Lori, this is powerful! I am sorry that you experience such emotions, it's good to share them in this excellent poetic form. We need a safety valve like this!! I can relate. When things become overwhelming, one must learn to detach and to say some "No". Love and hugs. Margherita |

Margherita Intellectually I know "this too shall pass" and God will bless my heart with sunshine. Funny how you can ask the same question over and over in frustration. But ask that same question of God and He will show you an answer that has been right under your nose. For example, I've been struggling with choosing not to feel hurt. This little kitten has ripped a curtain and a lampshade and other things special to me and I just blew it off. Had that been someone else that damaged those things I would have been very angry and not afraid to say so! Eureka! I AM capable of choosing! I figured that out today and then found out the kitten gets to go home tomorrow. And that is what sustains my faith. Feeling much better too Lori |
