nothing very much will change
by my passing
been through some wars
won most
but lost more than I should have
I never was broken
eh . . . there might be
a few tears from one or two
but what I have accomplished
no, not riches
far from it
was the ability to be able to write
twelve novels
one book for my then, twelve-year-old grandson
and my memoir
plus many, a great many
poems
they are my accomplishments
they will live when I am quite dead
as they should

P.S.: I have a novel in the works.

Well, dear Jerry, you have accomplished so much that you can really affirm that you have lived and shared your talent, which is indeed a reason for great satisfaction. I am positive that you will go on for quite some time more in your favorite activity, it will keep your mind from "decay" and if you add the daily walks with Zoe, you have the magic formula to grow old in good conditions. Tears can wait. The world goes on.

And good luck for your work in progress. I think it takes determination and discipline too and I admire that in you, besides your talent.

Have a great week.

Sounds like you have your mental bags packed and ready to go. Great! Now, you don't have to worry or wait you can just live in the moment day by day. You have reached an enviable position in life.

You are sweet, Margherita, and I thank you for being that way. My day isn't beginning so great. Woke up at three a.m., and can't get back to sleep.

I suppose I have at that, Lori. I admit to that fact most days. Thank you for being here this morning.
