I see you there,
Black in shadows crouching in wait,
I see you stare,
The tail twitches as you anticipate.
You watch with care
Prepared for whatever comes your way.

The sun is setting once more
Like a billion times before
Streaking beside curtain’s fold
Warmth receding as day grows cold
Then before all dims for night
Dancing dust plays in the last light.

And comes the chance
Rushing out from hiding you attack
To get the dance
Leaping to catch sparkles in black.
A fine attempt but they all get away.

Night has come as the day is done
Gone the sunbeam as away he runs.
High spirits for now is time of fun
Dust and dust bunnies are fair game
Real or not it’s all the same.
Black cat rushes through the room
Soon there will be beams from the moon.

Hi, Professor Gloom, I am not a cat fancier but enjoyed  your cat's actions against the sun filled sparks of dust dancing in the room. jo

Your cat has inspired you beautifully and it rendered the end of the day less melancholic for you as you watched the scenes.

And I love the anticipation of the moon glow ... a perfect conclusion!

I'm more of a dog person, but I do love watching cats chase air. Enjoyed.

They sure do love those dust bunnies don't they.  Has he managed to steal your socks yet?  Nice to drop in and read you.
