OUR MOUNTAIN PATHS OF JOY

The pathway of our love is fraught
at times with slippery ground
and rocks and stones and precipices
but our precious love has found

each time a place of refuge strong
to regain balance sound
because we are a team rock-solid,
our bond it has no bounds.

Our love has grown from seed to oak
and nothing, nothing ever
will cause it thus to come unstuck
nor shake, nor break, nor sever.

The winds may howl and storms may rage
but in each other’s arms
we find the comfort, passion, joy
and none can do us harm.

My heart you keep in gentle care
as I do yours as well.
Our souls are one, they interflow,
our trust, a golden bell.

The path behind is long today
and now below our feet,
a glorious view is spread for us
of mountain slopes, my sweet.

And when we reach this mountaintop
in sun and skies of blue
we’ll rest a while and then we’ll find
yet more to climb and grow anew.
