there some things I cannot explain
like the wind whistling low
into my heart
from the open window
at night I try to slumber
the wind
disturbs my near sleep quiet
then, of course
there is her
I fling back the bedcovers
naked I lie there
allowing the wind to caress me
my thoughts
understand things like n'er before
I pulled the covers
up to my chin
and send a silent plea
don't you understand
I could never be in harmony
with this world
but you were the closest path to it
I ever knew

She is gone now
much too late for anything
if she is still alive in the cosmos
I hope she hears my plea

This is very poignant, dear Jerry. Those nightly hours of silence bring her back into your thoughts, along the breeze that moves the curtains ... a friendly touch, that surely means she knows your feelings and wishes for you to be in peace. Somewhere, someday, somehow, you will meet again and all that has been will be understood. When we cultivate this hope we feel better.

You tug at the heartstrings with this one.

Always the optimist, my friend Margherita. And it always helps. Thank you very much for your input to the thoughts of the poem.

I'm involved as we speak carrying on one of my dreams, Jo. I'm writing another novel. Thank you for your comments.

Love is eternal and it waits for you. Her love for you understands now too. It's all good.

I wish I could be as optimistic as your friends, Jerry.
I guess they should be right, or it all makes no sense )
It's just because there are so many people, and the world is so confused.

Hello Gale, I'm not so optimistic either. Thanks for being here.
