that memory slipped from the stack onto my mind like a postcard that fell from between the fingers and landed on wanting to replay again, face down so you had to turn it over with careful examination time was like a west texas highway, partially dirt in places so slow down was more comfortable, and you wore jeans and bar-b-que sauce on your lipstick edges, between the giggle girl times and the woman with her freedom on when the poetry of your breasts became friendly ended and the leather of my back savored your slow songs as we leaned over against some sun sided pillow sky and scattered small talk over that lazy dog afternoon like a new deck of dreams, each with pictures of next time __________ daark |
