settled into a South Louisiana swamp
with towering trees
flowers I know not the name
I am alone with my jug of wine
I've always heard if you drink alone
you are lost forever
I do not subscribe to that
I raise my glass to the all-knowing moon
to drink with me
and old man moon
does indeed take part in my solitude
by letting me to see my reflection
in the wine
he has captured the three of us
for I have a specter with me constantly
my shadow
the moon is bright enough
for it to be seen
but when I cannot see the specter
he is still there
my doppelganger
my constant
I dance a simple step
giving into the moment
these two are all the friends I need
at the moment
oh, I do have friends
not many, but then I don't crave many
I feel fine
along with my doppelganger
and the moon
deep in the vastness of the Milky Way

interesting 'write!' ...

and with the realization that the "Milky Way" is only one of hundreds of
billions of other galaxies ... it is truly rather humbling and 'mind-boggling' ...

You brought the south, and Serenity, and you home to me. Thank you for this.

You have put the beautiful in bayou for those of us that can only imagine gators and snakes and a blackness of tress to get lost in. Thanks for sharing YOUR vision.

The peacefulness your ponderings bring is just what I needed today! Beautiful!

If my words were a balm to your thought process, suthern, I feel very fortunate. Thank you for reading and letting me know.
