              A Poet's Life

Most might deem it a life 'misspent' …
chasing formless shadows
in the moonlit evening wind
and ethereal phantoms in
boundless 'endless' mountain mists
along ever tenuous pathways of
   the breaking dawn,
or following fading footsteps
   of the setting sun,
seeking 'enlightenment'
(with only the light of love
and gentlest compassion)
as to the 'true nature' of this world,
forever lost in a 'Deep-Time' dream,
a brief meteor in the endless void ...
such is a poet's life!

Bruce,I Can't think of any way more pleasant than to be in the outdoors and be able to paint it with words. Enjoyed as usual. Jo

But we cannot live our lives for those who cannot understand what a pleasure it is to immortalize what we see around us and what we grasp from those who draw near to us, especially those who we love and deceive us into heartbreak.
