slumber comes easily
amid lethargic drops of rain
even as I try to fight it off
I am reduced to a peaceful
frame of mind
as huge, lazy raindrops
fall from the sky

peace . . .

that utopia man seeks
until at last it is his
usually when old age appears
boredom soon settles inside
and he has much too much time
to think and query
about a life squandered

Ahhh . . . I'm sure there are many who would be able to relate if they read it. Thanks for being here Lori.

Old age forces us to think whether we want to or not and I'm sure we can all relate.

Facts are so hard to deny, no matter how we try sometimes we just need the peace and rest.

I had a rainy day...
but I was busy through it all.

Ah, a good rain storm is one of the few things in life that will totally relax me.  As you say, it's over way too quickly usually.  Life isn't squandered if you're taking time to enjoy the little things, like a good rain.

Such rain is like a lullaby, giving me the sweetest rest! And having it interrupted by my alarm clock is truly a sin. LOL

Loved this!
