Moon-shadows Though I have tried so very long to paint this world with magic words in bright-delicious colors and a fine poetic ‘voice’ of both thunder and the whispering wind, will I be remembered even by the ones I loved so much as more than just a shadow in a pool of moonlight ... --- b. e. adams (7/19/2014) |

We all try to overcome though poetry. Sometimes it seems we are standing on a jagged, rock cliff. There is blackness behind us and a roaring, hungry sea in front of us. You write your poetry and you give joy to those of us who read your lines. So many have said . . . Write on. ~*~ Tell the truth, but tell it slant.--Emily Dickimsom ~*~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (07-20-2014 11:49 AM).] |

"We all try to overcome though poetry. Sometimes it seems we are standing on a jagged, rock cliff. There is blackness behind us and a roaring, hungry sea in front of us." ... yep, that about 'sums it up' for me ... couldn't have been better said (superb observation & comment)! |

I read and enjoy poetry written by those long dead. Who knows if anyone will remember us after a time but poetry does bring a bit of joy in a sometimes dark world and sometimes lingers on in the minds of future generations, proving it's worth, I guess. I save many of the best poems I read here in a book. When I am gone my daughter or granddaughters will read them and pass them on. Ida |
