   The Treasure
   of Your Love

My loving heart
chafes against
the want of you,
to be with you,
as I stand alone
on this windswept
night beneath
the deep-cold fire
of a great moon
   rising.
My mind and soul are
empty of all dreams
except those of you.
I would gladly follow
your spirit though
tempests untold,
and the greatest
darkness’s dread
where all light in
the dust lies dead,
wherever it may
choose to lead,
for I need no
grand share of
this grasping world
as I cherish only
the finest treasure
of your love.

As fine a romantic poem as any written by the great masters, Bruce. Better than most.
