I remember John Lennon
who doesn't
wonder if I were to let my hair grow long
changed my glasses
to the round ones he preferred
as he
approached prime of life
middle age
still wearing faded jeans
would I . . . like John
be the coolest guy around
writing poems (songs)
to shake up an unsuspecting world
eh . . .
think I'll just stay the way I am
he was who he was
cool was the word
but then . . .
no one can out-cool John
so . . . guess I'll stay  the way I am
