daytime gives up the ghost
in the late afternoon
dusk
I look forward to the night
the night is my friend
my thoughts turn darker
still . . . not as bad as before
my road weary days
took a large part of my soul
soon enough I realized the night
made me feel righteous
night people
seem to be less critical
they are aware of their own dark thoughts
and has an understanding
of others
honesty is the thing here
at night
when two people meet up
find a crib
pass a little time
both of them
these night people
knows there will be nothing
but a night or two
for them
long range plans are never mentioned
night people understand

Thanks Baby Girl. Yeah, there is something about the camaraderie of night people that I found refreshing. Much less "pretense."

Many thanks to you, Lori. Pretense is lying without verbally doing so.

I know what the word means I just meant that
People who don't (in my case) live like a TV commercial or page out of a magazine (hence the lack of pretense) to me seems more "realistic"
or "honest" ,if you will, and I find that refreshing.  Does that make better sense now?

I understood you in the first comment, Lori. I never even thought you didn't know what pretense meant. Heh. Heh I've never been a follower either.
