FOR THESE
27 April 2014

For all things past
and faded, worn,
forgotten, lost,
and jaded, torn,
love letters bound
in ribbons red
and prayers unprayed
and words unsaid,

and in our hearts
and most of all,
the tears for those
in sad recall,
I lay this lily
upon this stone
and bare my soul
in whispered moan.

Mainly in memory of Flicka, my horse; Tigger, my cat; Daisy, my dog; Prince, my granddog, Ciro, my granddog and Shakespeare my grandcat, all in Heaven over the years since 2002.

Thank you, Belle, for your kind words.

Thank you, Bruce, for yours too.  They were my Fur-person children and grandchildren, even more than my friends.

Such beautiful words once again Diana. The animal members of your family  were  and are such lucky furry friends. Your words go out to everyone to cause them to stop and reflect about all we have to be thankful for.Thank you,  for that, Jo

I only have one "Fur purrrrrson," Ms. 'Buttons' (the kitty) ... they
certainly don't suddenly change on (and abandon) you, etc.

Thank you, Ida!  Yes, they are.

Thank you, Martyjo, for your very kind words.  If I didn’t have fur-children, I would have been in an asylum long ago.  They are my life and my life support.

Thank you, Bruce.  Yes, I remember Ms Buttons’ name.  No, fur-people of any kind don’t change and abandon one.  I know that better than most.

A beautifully written tribute to the loved ones you never forget. Your love runs deep along side with your loyalty.  You are a special woman, Diana.

Oooh, I really liked this one.  There is only so much that can be said for those we've loved and lost... most of the burden we just have to carry with us, "in silent loan" as you stated.  Great line.
