Yellow cat
Yellow cat
With the gold green eyes
How you love to take my lap by surprise
Your landing purrfection
Oozing affection
From sharpened claws
Kneading my leg with your paws

Nice Lori.  I am not a cat fan but sometimes they do have a few good qualities.  And at times they are so darn funny.

Enjoyed!

JL
This cat is very dog-like. My husband is a confirmed cat hater and this one has stolen his heart.

Oh, don't I know exactly about that!  Precious little darling.  Please give your beautiful angel South African hugs and kisses from Auntie Di.

Yep, that's the way I like cats. Not digging up  my flowerbed and depositing yesterday's dinner(winks). Seriously, an affectionate pet is a tonic.

Thank you, Lori!  I will remember to add the ear-scratching in the future in my messages to Mz Kitty, the beautiful darling.

JL, I loved the 2 videos.  The first one where the cat welcomes Daddy Soldier back hom, is absolutely adorable!

The second one is very interesting.  I enjoyed the dog and cat parts.

However, when I come home, I always get a wonderful welcome at the door by my dog and almost always by my cat.

When we go into the back garden, they both have the whole of the back garden to play in and spend their time in, but most of the time they are both about 2 inches away from me, except for my dog's occasional rush across the garden to chase lizards on the wall or hadedahs (a species of ibis) on the ground or in the sky.

When I have visitors, both of them make a fuss of the visitor (esPECially if the visitor is my son), but keep coming back to me as if to reassure me that they haven't forgotten me.

At the vet's (I always take them separately), Cleo (my cat) clings to me and Benji (my dog) won't be seen by the vet on the table (I think he had a bad experience with the previous owners' vet - both my animals came from the same previous owners) and he has to be seen to on the floor and he won't go to the vet unless I am right there too, touching him.

I think that Cleo would possibly agree with the results so far of the experiment regarding many - maybe even most - cats, but would say that she is one of the exceptions, as she has a very close relationship with me, as did my late cat, Tigger.

Bless your heart for the video links that led me to a very funny hour or so of animal antics that had me laughing very early in the morning!
I'm still chuckling about the cat pushing the other cat down the cellar with a quick swat to the behind!

Owl I have a tendency to agree with you on the experiment. Kinda like they did drug testing on men and expected to get same results with women. I know my cat gets distressed when we are gone. She has plenty of food and water and someone to come in the house daily...after she comes out of hiding to greet us and get her loving, she lets us know she was not happy we were gone.
