Another Sunday Morning

Just another Sunday morning
bathing this town in blue
tell me there is a chance
I can connect this line to you
hey operator, didn't you hear?
I've got nothin' left to lose

A winning smile
she keeps that gypsy style
forever dangling on my chain
and the weary slouch of the dawning sun
carries with it a melancholy refrain
saved up like coupons to spend on your eyes
satisfaction guaranteed
together we'll watch the light till it dies
and all the colors bleed
throw another heartbreak record on the machine

'Cause it's
just another Sunday morning
catching tigers by the tail
tell me there is a dance
and a partner who knows it well
sunshine oh don't fade on me now
I've got my tales to tell

The losing end
a heart's back on the mend
forever dazzled by crazy love
and by all the broken promises of youth
somehow I can't ever get enough
save me Colorado from gettin' wrecked on it
love like an overdose
I'm goin' out tonight for another hit
take the thorns for the rose
throw another headache movie on the screen

And it's
just another Sunday morning
bathing this town in blue
tell me there is a chance
I can connect this line to you
hey operator, didn't you hear?
I've got nothin' left to lose

Yeah it's
just another Sunday morning
catching tigers by the tail
tell me there is a dance
and a partner who knows it well
sunshine oh don't fade on me now
I've got my tales to tell
catching that lonesome bus like a tiger by the tail
pull up the blood and tears from this well
I still can raise a little sand
in the collapsed heap of the things
I'll never ever understand

Yeah but baby
I still got my tales to tell

"Heaven is paved with broken glass,
since your hammer struck my heart" -XTC

fascinating 'write!' ...

I am especially fond of the line:

"sunshine oh don't fade on me now
I've got my tales to tell"
