Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Ahead of the brewing storm
the insolent wind
shoves my skin
in syncopated patterns
Whistling trees warn of
an impending protagonist
The flickering screen is interrupted
by color enhanced Doppler blobs
migrating across a map
A lone sentinel sits smoking
with an eye on the weather
as rain plays hit and miss

Now that's a stunning, weather-related poem that brings on the intensity and drama of a first class horror flick. Good going my friend!!!

I was kinda hoping for that. Thanks! It was sort of intense like that last night, but then it petered out after a jet propelled sprinkle or two. Which means we also missed out on hail and damaging winds (yea!)

fine slice of 'weather reality!' ...

meteorology/climatology was my 'minor' at university
... still fascinated by it ... particularly the "finger of god"
(F5) tornadoes!

Thanks Bruce,
I was trying to find a way to tell "the storm story" in different words. Every time there is a severe weather warning in effect, it becomes  a dramatic event (often a non-event) and inspirational. 'Tis the season to be inspired.

well done in its presentation of life's uncertainty related to the hold weather has on us all

Thanks EmmaRose! Good choice of words "hold on us" I agree!
