I watched you from the riverbank
You dance, you flow as the river
Jump and float as the clouds
You shine as the sun
Beautiful as a soft summers morn
Your smile summers innocent and pure

Yet you aren't Summer
Nor the innocence of youth
In the winter I see
In the cold
In the dead months
You lie still

I watch you once again and I see
The frost cold of gold eyes
The bitterness of summers smile
The icicles on the pretty hands
You dance not for summer
just to lure into the snow

Is it wrong that I feel her summer
In the winter that I know
That the warmth still beguiles
That should you dance by
I will throw myself on your Sun
And my seasons should end for you.

I aint as good as I once was but I'm as good, once, as I ever was. - Toby Keith
