          'Reality'

although the moon
is wide and ancient
it’s image dances
in the smallest,
most transient
drop of dew;
the boundless sky
floats in the tiniest
puddle or a mirage;
every grain of sand
was once a mountain;
the ocean lives in each
   raindrop;
we are made of
recycled stardust.
Which is more real
the dew, the rain,
the sand, the ocean,
the moon, the sky, us,
or our finest dreams?

Bruce, this is one of the best poems of yours, in my opinion, that I have ever ever read. I was going to say the first six lines were absolutely stunning, but the rest of the poem was just as stunning. THIS is poetry!

You have expressed your thoughts about what is real in a very beautiful, remarkably effective way, dear Bruce.

Yes, you have outdone yourself with this one.

you wove together quite wonderfully the circle of life, and our interconnection
to nature
