      The Depths of Love

The sunlight thins as
shadows lengthen.
All of life sings a
twilight song to
the rising moon.
This lifetime is but
a finely-spun thread
of ghostly memories
  and tears.
Evening spirits and
moonbeams dance
with the shimmering
waves on this forest
lake of  dreams.
Spring has come to
these ancient 'endless'
hills on silent footsteps.
Here, where all passionate
strife from the world of men,
is chaff on the winnowing wind,
the heart and soul turn clear
and all thoughts of ‘being alive’
distill to the depths of love.

As always, you capsule what is real among the unreal. This struck me profoundly . . .
quote:
